The latest confirmed development in the border freight scales is that a second office compares the count with the posted operating state. The update comes from the twin scales at Three Kilns Gate; the existing arrangement remains in force until the board closes this window.
Orrik Smelt, regional accounts correspondent, confirmed 64 loads with the same tare value at both gates in the file. The previous window recorded 59; the totals do not settle how two gates compare a load when one scale resets hours before the other.
The unresolved point is specific: Each town says its scale passed inspection. Carriers want the reset time printed beside the load ticket. No final outcome has been posted before the scheduled decision.
Residents and staff continue under the current schedule while the review is open.
NEXT UPDATE: The Year first, smelt run window 2 file remains open for its scheduled decision. Both gates will add the reset time to the next shared manifest. A fresh window will use a new date and source record.
